Terms and conditions

Standard terms and conditions of use of this website are listed below. If you require alterations to these terms, or a signed contract, please contact us with your requirements.

Payment

Invoices are issued upon placement of order, payable by cheque, card or bank transfer within 30 days of the transcript delivery date. No export restrictions are applicable, but all transactions must be in British Pound Sterling. UK Transcription cannot accept payments in foreign currency. All quotes, fees and prices are subject to VAT at 20%, unless point of origin is exempt from UK VAT.

Quotes and Deadlines

Quotes are valid until 5pm on the date of issue and subject to survey of audio. Quotes are based on a sample representation of audio quality, and are subject to quality and consistency of material. We reserve the right to cancel orders. All quotes and deadlines refer to working days, Monday to Friday. (For example a standard two day order placed at 10am on Friday will be due by 5pm Tuesday.)

Confidentiality

The nature of the work performed and any information transmitted to UK Transcription by the Client shall be confidential. We shall not without the prior consent of client, divulge or otherwise disclose such information to any person other than authorised employees or authorised subcontractors of UK Transcription whose job performance requires such acts.

Liability

Other than the death or injury to any person resulting from our negligence, UK Transcription shall not be liable to the Client or any third party in any circumstances whatsoever for any consequential loss or damage of any kind (including loss of profit) and the Client shall indemnify UK Transcription against all claims and demands for any such consequential loss or damage. UK Transcription assumes no liability for loss or damage arising from errors and inaccuracies in transcripts. It is the responsibility of the client to check accuracy. The client shall indemnify UK Transcription in respect of any loss, damages, costs (including reasonable legal fees), expenses or any other claims suffered by UK Transcription Services and arising out of any libellous or illegal matter contained in any material printed or produced for the client. UK Transcription assumes no liability for loss or damages to physical media supplied to us by post, and cannot guarantee safe return of goods.

Delivery Policy (Timescales)

Transcripts, by default, are delivered by unencrypted email attachment in Word 2003 .doc format, unless specifically requested otherwise. Additional security methods are readily available, but must be specifically requested. We endeavour to deliver transcripts by 5pm on the agreed deadline date. Deadlines are estimates and are subject to revision. We can unfortunately accept no liability for loss or damage arising from delays in delivery of transcripts or delays in the return of physical media. In the rare event of late delivery of items, a discretionary discount will be applied. Estimated deadlines are provisional, and UK Transcription will not accept any liability for any work submitted on an urgent basis.

Refund, Replacement and Cancellation Terms

No refunds are available after commencement of work, except at the discretion of UK Transcription. If the customer is not satisfied with the first draft of a transcript, UK Transcription will make all reasonable effort to revise the document at no extra charge. Replacement copies of transcripts are available for a period of 60 days. Digital copies of audio are available for a period of 10 days.
